Locus operates a 6-acre research pond with a separate customizable waterway for 1-25th scale manned model research and training.  Waterway vessels include two Suezmax-class manned models and one 14,000 TEU containership manned model (which is also configured to serve as an Azipod-controlled cruiseship).  All vessels have on-board tractor tugs for assist maneuvers. The facility, known as the Port St. Tammany Manned Model Training and Research Center, utilizes precise GPS tracking and custom docks and waterway layouts to test and evaluate new construction designs and existing waterways.
